Seraphs Mortis VS Necrons
It was a day of Darkness, the colony of Tarmesh II had been in the final death rolls of it’s life time. It’s people desperately clinging to hope that the Emperor would send them help, their current technology level was very low, horse drawn carts the main stay of transportation. The Planetary governor took his own personal transport fleet filled with goods and items from his palace then left. He did this the second the first signs of the ancients arose. Those called the Necrons emerged from antique tombs under the ground.
Without mercy they slaughter the helpless people, spears and bows not able to hurt them in any manner. With no way to escape their fate looked like it was sealed, to spend the rest of their lives as slaves to their lords. But all was not lost, the Emperor would send help, and bring justice the Planetary governor.
Less then a month ago the Battle Barge “Harbinger Mortis” was on it’s way home from the Medusa campaign where the Third company won many battle honors in defending the planet. Filled with refugees and POWs the Librarian on board got a message in his sleep, to divert their course and head for Tarmesh II. He requested Captain Titus to heed his dream and he did, with haste the Harbinger Mortis made straight for their target. That was 2 days ago…
….”Father, they are breaching the walls!”, a child screamed as the green glow of a gauss weapon pounded another large chunk of rock from the governors palace. It was one of the last remaining safe places. The Necron advance was something only found in nightmares.
A fog so thick you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face, slowly rolls in. And as if the warning of their advance the Necrons roll in behind it. Slowly moving like the living dead they ponderously advanced on the palace. Luckily it was constructed to withstand modern weapons unlike the stone castles commonly kept by the feral lords of the planet.
Although with no way to fight back it was just a matter of time.
“Quickly, everyone into the keep!”, a Guard yelled as he grabbed the arm of a young woman and nearly tossed her down the stair well into the inner keep.
Another heavy pulse and an entire section of the outer wall collapsed.
“We are doomed! There is no hope for us, Emperor forsaken we are!”, an imperial missionary servant said as he helped his very old missionary into the keep.
“Speak not such heresies my young ward. Even in our death may we remain faithful.”, the missionary barley said before running out of breath, “Our time is at an end but it will be according to his will, I wish it was another way for so many lives to be wasted.
Three more hours pasted all of the remaining 4,000 people crammed into the keep, the outer walls collapsed and the sky was darkened as black clouds gathered over head. Green lighting lit the advance of the Necrons their figures moving for the final death blow.
A throb from some unearthly power and the wall to the keep blew inwards taking about 14 people with it.
Another strike of green lighting, those still alive saw the full horror of the ancients ones. Like giant skeletons they stood still and lifeless less then 300 yards away. By one command their green eyes lit up and they began to walk forward. A Necron Lord now commanding them. A wraith moving in and out of existence like a specter getting closer.
Their time was over, or so they thought.
“Father look what’s that?”, a child said pointing towards the sky.
Sure enough a single streak of flame burning through the dark clouds, followed by another.
The Necrons stopped, their lord with no emotion studied the new objects. It was already to late for him to start his counter attack. Both pods hit the ground and instantly the Space Marines burst form their armored shells, bolters blazing. Necrons began falling. A Techmarine that stood almost 10 feet tall commanding his unit of Servitors with accurate plasma cannon and heavy bolter fire took up postions behind him. Cutting down the Warriors of the Necrons with the Emperors justice. The Librarian at the for front of the attack and scouts flanking the Enemy. It was fast, to fast to accurately see. Like lighting a Chaplin and 5 terminators appeared on the field and cut down a wraith, then destroyed the Necorn Lord and his squad. The Scouts took heavy fire but allowed the Liberian and his squads to advance unharmed into the enemy and obliterate them in seconds. Just as quickly as they arrived the Necrons vanished from the battlefield.
Like angels amidst the darkness the Seraphs Mortis slew the Enemies of many and saved the population. Their white armor like torches in the darkness, never before had anyone here seen a space marine and to finally realize all the stories they heard about them of true, it was truly a blessing from the Emperor.
Those still alive boarded the Harbinger Mortis with the refugees from Medusa.
