As if Dorje’s glowering, or the shred of optimism within it, had summoned misfortune, the sanguine satin of Tseten’s voice materialized behind him. Dorje whirled in a fit of violence, startled by the sudden appearance of another person, “Tseten-” he realized, and dropped his fists. If he wasn’t mistaken, it wasn’t long ago Tseten had been thoroughly intoxicated - even more so than usual. How the airbender managed to stay upright, let alone coherent, while breathing more alcohol than air was beyond him. There were more pressing matters at hand, besides.
“The riddle…?” his eyes flicked to the now crumpled paper in his hand, then back up to Tseten’s chin, “or commentary?” Regardless, it seemed Tseten had worked out the meaning of the riddle, and Dorje, whose expertise was in combat - not flowers - was irritated with his own ignorance. That Tseten appeared so confident only exasperated his patience further. Of course an event in a garden would follow a garden theme. Nyima would have known every flower from any riddle that was presented to them, but that, he thought with the faintest grimace, was irrelevant. He wondered if Chimeg was faring any better - and hoped not.
Loathe as he was to admit it, Dorje wasn’t going to get far very quickly without the help of someone more knowledgeable: or at least someone who could read. “Must be,” he muttered with a resigned sigh. He wasn’t necessarily fond of Tseten, but convincing ( more like casually remaining near ) Tseten to partner with him was preferable to the alternative. “This flower,” he began tentatively, first scanning their surroundings in case he could scrounge up answers of his own, “what else?”
“I only ever saw it once in a dense, humid forest,” Tseten clicked his tongue, “I was sweating just as much as the hog who followed us the whole way through. Awful place.”
Dorje hadn’t needed the image of Tseten sweating away branded into his imagination, but the information gave Dorje some inclination of what they should be looking for. “There-” he gestured with a jerk of his chin toward an area hugged by a smattering of trees that above formed a dense canopy of leaves. Any uncertainty in the suggestion evaporated with the migration of a few straying scavengers. Trying ( and failing ) to look less invested than he felt, Dorje veered briskly toward the artificial forest with the assumption that Tseten would follow close behind.
Stepping through the archway was like stepping into another world. Dorje hesitated, despite himself, to take it in, then, shaking his head, reminded himself that he wasn’t the kind of person who appreciated flowers, and pressed on.
It was only a short walk before the putrid stench of… something shattered the mystique of the atmosphere. “Ugh,” his nose wrinkled with disgust both with the scent and the need to persevere. Only the exuberantly wealthy would expose common people to such a wretched experience for entertainment.
Tseten pinched his nose, “That's it. Not quite as bad as before, but there's no doubt about it. Follow the stench and we'll find it.”
Apparently favouring victory over preserving his sense of smell, Dorje nodded in affirmation and followed the scent to the odorous flowers, where a few nauseous participants were searching while a masked painter waved cheerfully to them. Tseten was the first to suggest checking beneath the enormous petals of the flower, and Dorje, not wanting to be useless to their endeavour, stepped forward. Retrieving one of his blades, he pressed the flat edge to a petal to maneuver it away. Sure enough, as Tseten had suggested, the bristles of a comb were buried in the soil. “Yours,” he offered the comb, and when Tseten took too long ( as in longer than .2 seconds ) to accept it, he tossed it loosely at him before dipping to search for another.
“Dorje, please! You could have killed me.”
“Welcome!” greeted the oddly… bright painter when the pair presented their combs. “Wonderful. Everything appears in order -” as if there was more than one thing to be in order, “Allow me to paint your masks.” Dorje retrieved the object from where it’d been tucked away, only then regarding it long enough to note that its features depicted some kind of bear. The painter filled in only a fraction of the masks, blowing delicately on the paint until it dried before offering it back, “Here you are. All the best with the next clue,” the painter gave them each a rolled up scroll, and once Tseten and Dorje had stepped away from the table, waved over the next batch of participants.
Returning the mask some place it wouldn’t stain his clothes, Dorje unrolled the scroll more for show than any hope of finding anything of use. Seeing it was all text, he frowned, rolled the paper up again, and looked to Tseten, who appeared to be reading. “What does it say?”
Tseten studied Dorje a moment before clearing his throat, reading the riddle aloud like he would poetry. “So touching, evokes such strong emotion. Really makes you think, doesn't it?”
All of the riddles made him think, his knowledge of flowers limited to those known well in the Earth Kingdom. As the garden grew more familiar to him, however, Dorje’s ability to contribute increased steadily until he felt just far enough removed from a burden that his stinging pride felt palatable. Tseten and Dorje navigated the scavenger hunt in good time, with Tseten, regrettably, maintaining a mostly one sided flow of conversation despite Dorje’s passive attempts to deter him. A few times, Dorje spotted Chimeg ( she appeared to be struggling less than he hoped ) and Tulok, and in each instance veered to avoid them.
By the time Tseten and Dorje received the final riddle, noon was approaching. Dorje had given up on pretenses, didn’t bother to unroll his scroll as if he’d miraculously be bestowed the ability to decipher it. Instead he looked to Tseten, or rather, to the scroll in his possession, expectant.

((I can't really think of any sort of plot like event since nobodies rped yet, and we haven't gotten a feel for it yet, so I'm going to go ahead and give a character based event.))
Tadashi, noticing how quickly the enterance area was beginning to fill up with a crowd of people - teachers and students, he noticed - he began to head inside. Of course, with the crowd being thick like it was, and his impatience to get out of said crowd, he wasn't exactly polite about pushing his way through.
Specifically, he pushed on a few occasions to get through...probobly angering a few people, but he really didn't care. It was when he neared the front doors however, that he heard something and turned around to see who it was.
((Alright then...anybody who wants to interact with him, the spots open. It could be somebody he pushed by, somebody he knows, or something...you guys choose ^_^))

Clutcing something tight in her hand, she ran after him. "Wait up!" 'I can't call him by name, I don't know him. I wonder if he's a freshman too! I'm so nervous!' She was thinking so hard, she bumped into the wall. "Ouch!"

the new freshman science teacher looked down at the entrance hall from the 2nd story and sighed. "I just graduated college and im back in school... why did i choose this job anyways..."
he notices a few students that have spotted him are looking curiously at him. they must have noticed how devilishly handsom he looks... or that he appears to look like a wolf...
"well i just hope they dont try petting me..." he smirked and pushed his glasses up. "hmmm... on second thought..." he said as he noticed how cute some of the students are.

Tadashi heard someone calling out to him, that he dropped something, and he turned to see them-it was some girl, probobly a freshman. He didn't even get a chance to say anything before she walked right into the wall he was standing besides. It was the wall that surrounded the enterance area, actually, it's purpose to be a fence rather then an actual wall.
His thoughts were something along the lines of ...typical freshman.
He offered a hand to help her up, since she did afterall, have something of his. Huh...well, that wouldn't have been fun to lose - it looked like it had been his wallet he'd dropped. He gave her a curt nod, and spoke, "Thanks."
He probobly would have been a bit more grateful if he wasn't in a bad mood...but since he was, she'd probobly have to prod him to get more then that thanks. The junior looked up briefly, and blinked in surprise as he saw someone in one of the windows up there. That wouldn't be so strange, except for that the person looked...well, like a wolf.
Well, that's different. Must be new..
((Sorry for how rude Tadashi's being...he's in a bad mood))

* wonders if she can join as well XD*
Name: Chankuruchi Ken
Gender: Girl
Age: 15
Grade: 10th
Appearance: She is a tall (for Japanese standards) girl. Her long, black hair makes her pale face look even more white. The bright, they almost seem to glow, green eyes are probably the thing that scares people away from here.
Personality: Chankuruchi now works as a shrine maiden at the local shinto-temple, and lives there as well. The only family she's got left, is her half-brother Akarui.
Last year she visited another school, but because of her half-brother living far away, she had to move here. Chankuruchi is the only heir to the Ken-family fortune, but rather keeps that a secret. Only teachers are informed with the fact she comes from a very wealthy family.
She seems to be very distant, and never intends on making any friends. But shy is definatly not a suited description for Chankuruchi, in fact, she can be very rude, but reasonable, and self-centered! She's mostly the first to start a discussion, and is very much of a tomboy.

Chankuruchi walked through the corridors observingly. Every inch of the building should be printed in her mind, there wasn't going to be anything she didn't know, or wouldn't be prepared for. Unfortunatly, she couldn't concentrate on the building itself very well, for there were hundreds of other students shouting, babbling and running around.
...Great, another school full of children, just what I needed.
Chankuruchi looked up at the ceiling, and sighed. Yep, this was as good as it's gonna get... From the pocket of her school uniform, she took a note and read it again.
Chankuruchi,
Visit room 4-B to meet the teacher that'll show you the way around. Have fun.
Akarui.
She put the note back, and walked on towards the place she was expected to go to. Classroom 4-B. Second floor, fourth room to the right. Those were the directions her half-brother, Akarui Yanagisawa, told her to follow.
Chankuruchi reached a door with a big 4-B on it. One sigh, and she opened the door with a light click.
" Excuse me, are you by any change Prof. Wolfie? I was told to meet you here."
She bowed lightly.
" My name is Chankuruchi Ken."
