 Lillian looked intently at the bouquet in front of her. A strange pony had just given it to her before vanishing. "Lasting bonds, humility, remembrance, and peace. The past still guides your future. Cherish old lessons and loved ones, for they carry the wisdom you need for what comes next." This is what the mysterious pony had uttered to her. What did they mean? This bouquet symbolized what was spoken, she understood that. But the whole thing was just so...well...she didn't really have the words to describe it. Surreal perhaps? She plopped to the ground, deep in thought. Was it an actual "fortune" of some sort? Or simply a wise pony wishing to pass on it's wisdom. There certainly was truthfulness in the words. Her mind wandered from one thought to another, and suddenly settled on one. Did anyone else receive one of these strange bouquets? She looked around to see if anyone was around; it was a rather quiet day. "Well...even if no one else did...maybe someone could help me sort through and figure out what exactly this is..." she mumbled softly to herself. ================ 189 words

Jingles the Balloon Pony was always a fan of flowers. She adored balloons, of course, and they were her signature item. But flowers had not only various colors but also various scents! More fun, she thought. Now that it was summer, Jingles the Balloon Pony ran through the flower fields, relishing the abundance of wonderful floral scents all around. With a big grin on her face, she slowly opened her eyes. And off in the distance, she spotted Lillian, her friend, looking puzzled at something. What could it be? What is wrong? Jingles the Balloon Pony started prancing over to Lillian. "Hey, Lillian! Great day, isn't it? What is going on? What do you have there?" Jingles the Balloon Pony hadn't seen her friend in a while, so she was very excited to see her again. Eager to help and to hang out with her, Jingles the Balloon Pony excitedly made her way over to her good friend. Word count: 158

Lillian was deep in thought when she heard someone calling out to her exuberantly. She glanced up to see her friend, Jingles the Balloon Pony merrily bouncing towards her. Lillian chuckled softly to herself, a small smile crossing her face. Jingles was almost always happy and cheery. Sometimes maybe a little too much, but that was ok. "Hey Jingles," she responded as Jingles approached. "Well...it's the weirdest thing...this strange pony came up to me and gave me this flower bouquet. They said 'Lasting bonds, humility, remembrance, and peace. The past still guides your future. Cherish old lessons and loved ones, for they carry the wisdom you need for what comes next. Now, what will you do with this, hmm?' Before I could process what was spoken and ask questions...they disappeared. Now I'm here staring at it, at a loss as to what all that is even supposed to mean..." She grew silent a moment before speaking again. "Jingles, did you get one of these? What do you think it means? Did you see anyone else with one? I'm so confused..." ============ 183 words

Jingles the Balloon Pony scratched her head with her right hoof. "Strange pony? What strange pony? What did this strange pony look like? And why would they give you a flower bouquet?" Jingles the Balloon Pony looked at her friend Lillian inquisitively. She had not received such a flower bouquet; she was in the depths of the flower fields and soaking up the hot sun, all on her own. "I didn't receive anything from anybody... And I think it's like a fortune cookie. I think it's supposed to impart some kind of wisdom," Jingles the Balloon Pony said, leaning into Lillian. 3nodding "Maybe it is meant to kind of describe life in a few words? What a cryptic pony they were, huh, Lillian. Do you have any idea who it was or where they came from?" Word count: 135

Lillian laughed softly. "You were off in the flower fields eh;? That sounds nice..." she said as her voice trailed off. She thought about Jingles' words a moment before replying. "I have no clue who they were; I had never seen them before. A lot of ponies do come and go though so...I guess that's not too surprising. It just so...odd, ya know?" She looked off into the distance, reflecting on her friends words, and those of the mystery pony. "You could be right though. I don't really believe in fortunes and stuff, but they are some wise words, as well either way. Jingles, do you recall a specific time when these words have applied to you, or us?" She paused again and looked at her friend. "Do you have any thoughts on how we can carry these words with us moving forward?" She didn't expect Jingles to have all the answers. But she was keenly interested in what she thought. That was what friends did, after all. ================= 170 words

Jingles rolled around in the grass. The grass was warm, and she was full of glee. 'Tis what ponies do, Jingles the Balloon Pony thought to herself. Then she realized that her friend was talking to her. Something, something, something, something, something... "thoughts on how we can carry these words with us moving forward?" Stumbling over her words, Jingles the Balloon Pony said, "I think it's supposed to be highly applicable to every pony's life. Personally, I think they're supposed to make us more aware of how we move through our lives and, generally speaking, live more enriching lives that are more full and meaningful. In my opinion, it sounds like something an elder pony would want to pass on to younger ponies, you know? Like, little nuggets of wisdom? And do you really have no idea who that mysterious pony was, Lillian? Did this pony look elderly to you? What did they look like? Were they an adult, at least? And what do you think about those sage words and why they chose to pass them on? And to you, specifically!"Word count: 182

Lillian watched in slight amusement as Jingles rolled around, almost without a care in the world. "Hmm....I suppose you're right. The idea of cherishing old lessons almost seems...uncomfortable in a way I can't fully explain..." She allowed her voice to trail off and her gaze to wander away once again. Just then, their friend Conall appeared, trotting their way. ============ 61 words------------------------------------ "Hey you two! What's going on?" he shouted out to them as he approached. He listened intently as Lillian explained the situation, with Jingles chiming in between bouts of rolling around. "Hmm...that is all rather interesting. I definitely think Jingles is onto something here. Maybe try not to be so hung up on who they were and exactly why they told you this. Focus on what it means, here and now." He paused a moment, wanting to give it some time for his words to sink in.
"Why don't we look back on some occasions. Do you recall Jingles the time when we were out adventuring with Rosetta, and we ran across the strange pony and the bunny? That was a bit of a wild adventure, but our bond kept us together, and able to figure out the situation. And it required humility to realize we were wrong. I know you weren't there Lillian, but I relayed the experience to you" He stopped and looked at Jingles. Do you remember that? Jingles the Balloon Pony glanced over at Lillian, then looked off in the direction she stared off to. CONALL! It was Conall. Jingles the Balloon Pony's good friend from long ago. "Hey, Conall! It has been a long time! How have you been, my good friend!" Jingles the Balloon Pony jumped up onto her feet and trotted over to him. Jingles the Balloon Pony and Conall were quite close back in the day. She doesn't see him too often anymore, but she likes to think that they grew up together. "Lillian received a strange bouquet of flowers. Weird, isn't it? Who do you think it was from, and what do you think these sage words mean? Why do you think this strange pony approached Lillian?" Jingles the Balloon Pony leaned in when Conall spoke. "Why yes, I remember that! It was a bit embarrassing, huh..." Jingles the Balloon Pony's cheeks started to blush pink. "But I'm glad we figured it out! It was worth it."Word count: 165

Conall smiled softly at his old friend. "Yes, it has been a while, hasn't it? But...it's that bond that, even though time may pass without us realizing it, the friendship, affection, ect, can still remain." He motioned for Lillian and spoke softly, "Lillian, you don't have to have it all figured out. Life's lessons aren't always painful. And even ones that are, can help us toward tomorrow. With hope, with faith, with love. You have had your share of experiences and adventures, good, and bad. But all of them have made you who you are. And who you will become can be shaped by how you respond to those experiences. Then. Now. Later." He smiled kindly as he finished speaking.

Jingles the Balloon Pony looked over at Conall. He was so wise, gentle, and kind. She always relied on him for his sage words and friendly nature growing up. Whenever she was lonely or feeling down, Conall was there for her. Oh, how she has missed him. Jingles the Balloon Pony was ever glad to see her friend again. "Conall is right, Lillian! You don't need to have all of the answers. And life lessons aren't always painful. And they make you who you are today and in the future, too! Conall and I know all about that!" Jingles the Balloon Pony smiled softly at Lillian and stared off into the distance. I wonder where that mysterious pony went off to. And I wonder if we'd see them again, Jingles the Balloon Pony wondered. Hearing the birds chrip quietly, Jingles the Balloon Pony looked up toward the sky. Word count: 148 Total word count: 788
