Wren followed the Sniffer in front of them, her movements graceful but never wasted. She could feel Ron beside her in the elevator then following her down the hallway of the Security Floor. She could feel trace amounts of iron around them but knew that she could handle it, even on a daily basis. It still sat in the back of her mouth like a nasty aftertaste from sour fruit. Outwardly, she showed nothing. But it was the nothingness that came from centuries of control.
They were led to an apartment in the corner and the keys were passed to Wren before the Sniffer left them alone.
She looked around the living room, easily taking in the added iron protection as well as the careful attention to detail with the decorations. One of the trunks she'd sent over was sitting underneath her wedding painting with Rowan. That trunk held his things. She didn't think she would ever unpack it.
She finally paused in the living room and tossed her cloak and gloves over a chair then gestured to the couch, "I guess we should talk," she said first, hesitating just a bit as she sat down, "I'm not good at that, though... I'm not used to..." she hesitated again, not sure how to explain it to him, "I guess you could say that I'm not used to people... interactions..." another brief pause as she gathered her thoughts.
"I am old. Far older than you might guess. But I have always been set aside from everyone. As a child, I was Bound to the King's Castle in the Elven Realm. I chose the monarchs and protected them. Until recently, that is... About a month ago, I think... It might have been longer... I've lost track of time, I guess... Anyway... Back then, the last king I chose was killed by my brother-in-law, then he and my husband were killed. Somehow, the Goddess was able to sever the Binding that kept me at the King's Castle. For the first time, I'm free," she explained her basics to him, not sure what he would make of it all.
Yeah, there was a lot left out of it, but she still gave him the important information.
"Also... I'm proficient with most weapons and hand-to-hand techniques. I am better with weapons and protocols than I am with people..." she added, not sure about telling him about her name. That one was just a little too pitiful, in her opinion.
