Deinos looked down at the line where solid ground met the encroaching grands of sand. It wasn't that he was necessarily avoiding the beach. He had nothing against the beach. Sometimes he even enjoyed it. No, if anything, it was what would soon be happening on said beach he was trying to avoid. He looked down each side, wondering if Venus and her companion were anywhere to be found. The stretch of beach to his left was empty, the strip of beach to his right curving around a cliff so any line of sight was broken.
Deinos took a deep breath, steadying himself to take his first step to conquering fear when suddenly a sharp yelp sound could be heard. He swiveled quickly in a circle to see drool dripping from one of his vines, and a now moist patch on his fur. Damn vine had bit him! Deinos growled, barring his teeth at the guilty party. "You're lucky I don't bit back" he said in a huff. Drool continued to pool further as the vines slowly opened its maw further. "I'm going, I'm going!" Deinos snapped his own teeth at the vine then turned back to the beach.
His mind went back as his feet took him forward, down the strip of beach he couldn't see. He still felt silly about it, but he couldn't help having fears. Venus, one of the great joys in his life, had found another to share her life with. Which Deinos would have easily congratulated her on, and welcome with a warm heart. Unfortunately, when seeing her new friend the first time he had had weird flashes of adrenaline and fear spike through him. Venus was an angel and understood immediately, even when he had not. Just as a predator is warned by the markings on prey, Deinos had seen her new friend and Deinos had seen FIRE.
The meeting had ended shortly after that. Deinos unaware of why his nerves were shot, but Venus already having an idea of how to assuage them. And that is how Deinos found himself in the one area they could surround themselves with water.

Venus chirps slightly towards Litten. "Promise me you will at least behave, Litten.." She trots along with the feline pokemon. Litten groans at her while nodding. "You do realize it will take a lot for me to get him to understand that I do not have any fire power of any kind?!" Venus chuckled softly. "I know but.. just give him a chance.." Litten jumped onto the rocks to start to look for him. "I can see what you see in him but.. He is a huge softie, you know." Venus giggled once again while blushing. "I can't help it! He is so sweet and has such a kind soul, Litten. You'll be good friends before you know it."
Venus and Litten perks up at the sound of a yelp. "... That is him!" Venus chirped and trots a bit faster, getting around the bend so she could see the rest of the beach. Litten knew that he couldn't stray far from her. So he quickly follows her only see the big venusaur. ".... Deinos?!"

At the sound of Venus' voice all thoughts left him for a moment. Deinos looked up to see the small yet mighty mare running from the bend in the beach. His large gait had him closing distance quickly till his eyes rested on the reason they were here and his legs locked up. A small yelp followed by sand flying and him tumbling over himself. Deinos opened his eyes after the world stopped spinning to find himself laying frozen in the water. The water lapping lazily against him as he rushed to his feet so he wasn't face to face with Venus' small furry friend. "He-he-hello Venus" his eyes glided to Litten and he gave a shakey nod hello. His vines looking bored as they hovered above him, one could almost see the gesture of rolling their eyes though none of them had any. One already bored enough to snap at the incoming waves, determined to catch one and bring it ashore.

Venus continue to trot towards where she had heard her best friend. "Deinos?!' That is when she noticed Litten had almost came face to face with the venusaur. "Oy! Litten!" She chided at the feline. "I told you not to scare him!" Litten only could look at her with a sad look and a form of sweatdrops on the side of his head. ".... "
She gasped at the sight of Deinos tumbling into the small waves. "Oh, hun!' She hurries to get to him. She noticed the look on his face, shaking her head. "For he last time, Deinos.. He won't hurt you! He cannot hit you with any fire. Come on now." She quietly fussed at the venusaur. Litten gulped a bit, remembering never to get on her bad side. He glances towards the vines. "...I totally understand why you guys are like this, Vines."
Venus was able to nuzzle Deinos before looking towards the vines. "Really, boys? I have fussed you before for giving your 'owner' trouble.." She baps one of the vines on the nose. "You know he got a sensitive soul." She then glanced towards Deinos. "The water won't hurt you.. Litten won't hurt you, dear. Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" She presses her head under his chin, one of her favorite ways to show deep affection towards him.

Deinos locked eyes with the colors on Litten's fur and again felt like that was all he could see, all he could breath. "You--you say that but...". That's when the slight pressure against his chest grew and he felt a magnification of warmth spread through him. He was able to end the lock the colors had on his mind to look down at Venus. Again, her quiet strength and never wavering presence grounded him. His eyes came back into focus and he gave a small smile down onto her.
In the background the vines unanimously nodded at Litten. Though mostly lost interest quickly, sniffing around the water or other things near and far, one leaned closer to sniff at the small cat-like creature. It was that one that got the light bap on its nose. Shaking it's head and withdrawing to hide in Deinos' leaves. Poking the tip of its nose out to glare without eyes at the Litten accusatoraly
Deinos slowly lifted his eyes towards the small cat and gave a wavering smile. Finally noticing the soft lap of waves against the small creatures feet. With the clarity Venus had given him he was finally able to understand; a creature of fire would never allow water to touch itself. "Yeah.... yeah I think I am" his grin became stronger, though still lopsided in his silly way. "How are you?" He looked back to Litten. "Sorry. About.... that." Coughing slightly to expectorate some of the shame and guilt. "It's nice to meet you."

Litten tilts its head as he stood besides Venus, not caring about the water hitting its paw at the moment. He was more concerned about Venus and wondering just how in the hell this mare can settle a big stallion like Deinos. Venus glares at him for a short moment. "... Deinos.. You know I wouldn't lie to you at all." She nuzzles his neck once again. "It is okay.. I know it is your anxiety speaking. Isn't it?" She glanced into his eyes while giving him one of her cute grins.
Litten watched the vines closely before chuckling. "Hey now! I didn't do anything to you. Venus was the one that bapped you. Not me." He shook his head lightly at the vines. "Really.. You think Venus would let me be around you if she didn't trust me?"
Venus couldn't help but burst out in giggles at the way Litten reacted to being accused of bapping the vines. "Oh my lord... Vines.. " She glanced towards Deinos. "There is the big stallion I know.." She watches him go through his emotions and thoughts. She knew that he was having a bit of turmoil within him. She leans against him to try to 'help' him up. "Come on.. It is a gorgeous day. We can slash around in the water if you like."
Litten perks up at Deinos "It is nice to meet you as well. Venus told me alot about you. I can see why your vines give you some trouble.. Some of them are independent, eh?" Venus grins at Litten while stepping back. "No need to apologize, sweetie."

Deinos blushed slightly, knowing 100% that Venus would never lie to him. That she had never in the past, and every interaction he had had with her showed she was practically incapable of it. "I know in my head that you wouldn't." A little shrug escaping as he thought of his next words. "I don't think it was my head controlling those reactions though.
Deinos was feeling an itch to change the subject, now that the terror and adrenaline had left his body. His lips tilted devilishly upwards as his mind churned. "A good day for splashing, huh? It's a good thing you dont mind the water, Litten!" He turned his head just in that moment to time running towards an incoming wave. He leaped into air and spread his limbs as far as he could to land squarely against the crashing wave. His chuckles ringing out over the surf as he stood, water dripping off every soaked vine.

Venus smiled widely at him, listening to his words. "Alright.. But you know that if your head starts to tell you these things, you tell me.. Right?" She nodded at him. "Good. I would never lie to you.. That is my promise to you." She gets on her hind legs and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
She gets back on all fours later while flickering her tail, watching him glow up right before her. "Yes, it i-..." She widened eyes at his words and knew for that moment that Litten is about to shown that he is to be trusted.
Litten tilts his head at Deinos' words and didn't have a chance to widen his eyes or any sort of reaction when he was suddenly completely drenched by the giant venusaur. "....." He ran towards Deinos and used his tail to send the next wave of water straight for him. "Oh you think this kitty cannot send a good water attack?!"
Venus squealed as she got splashed by both of them by mistake. "B.. .Boys!" She laughed softly.
