Head up to the top of the hill, place a small offering on the altar, and make your wish. Is it a wish for love, a child, a friend or even someone long lost? Think carefully about your wish, however, as you only get to make one!

....Caps Pets won here are free. They will count as one of your freebie wins for the month of June. You may enter for 1 Soquili Slot (anything but Loyal Companion) and 1 Familiar Slot (Loyal Companion) if you have not hit your monthly cap.
Restrictions All participating pets must be certed. If they are not certed, a cert request may be linked provided it predates the start time. With the changes to Shifter rules, non-charmed Shifters can now participate. You may use another person's pet or couple so long as you have their permission. This permission can be in the form of a lifemate agreement between their pet and yours, or a post in Reference and Mockbreeding Permissions. Using another person's pet as a throwback also requires a post in Reference and Mockbreeding Permissions as these slots are not breeding slots. This permission must be posted for all owners involved in the entry, and linked for each pet referenced as a throwback. You may use pets that are deceased IC.
Reminders Please check to make sure you have been added to the list correctly. We will do our best to keep the list accurate and updated frequently, but mistakes do happen - especially when there's a high number of entrants. With this rule, we will no longer be rolling an additional slot for missed people. (Exceptions may be made depending on the circumstance, but they are just that: exceptions, and not the rule.) Wishing Stars aren't breedings OOC, and colorists have more free reign with them. Additional breeds and traits may be added that the parents do not possess. Otherwise all edit levels, breeds, and mutant traits can pass, unless otherwise stated. Prizes in Wishing Stars are considered semi-customs; colorists are free to stream them at any time. If you're getting baskets and want to be surprised, please keep that in mind! All children granted will be considered a special gift from the Star and labeled as a 1st Gen Mockbreeding Child of the couple. However, you may still throwback to their mock parents' bloodline when entering them in normal breeding slots, even if it's impossible for them to be related by blood. (E.g. the seathi Quiyahuatl can throwback to his Usdia mother and his angeni father.) IC interpretation is flexible. This means if a female Usdia x male Usdia win an Usdia basket, they can say IC that it was born normally rather than the result of a star. This also means rogue entries can claim they mated with a random character of the opposite biological sex, that it was a spirit child between them and another, or that it was a spirit child of them alone. However it should not go against shop canon; if the female Usdia x male Usdia received a Mer child and they see it as their genetic offspring, it must have come from the Star or other spirits rather than being a biological birth. In addition, users are still free to use throwback references, regardless of whether the resulting child is considered canonically related or not.
Posting & Editing Each entry must be submitted in a separate post; do not post entries for multiple categories in a single post. If you want to edit the list of usernames in the "Star-Spoken" and "Spirit's Blessing" categories, you must void your original entry and repost. You must void and repost if you change categories as well - for instance, pulling a "Star-Spoken" entry to enter a "Long Lost Family Member" instead. When you repost, state that you're voiding the previous entry; otherwise you may be listed twice and disqualified. Any other aspects of the form may be freely edited at any time, without reposting. If you post an incomplete form, you will not be added to the list, and we will not be going back to check. You must repost to have your form counted.
Newbies If you have no pet in the shop, have no fear! You can receive permission to reference other people's pets in most categories. Alternatively, you may make up a human character in the Kawani setting and use that character to enter the "True Friend" and "Loyal Companion" categories.

This wish for a child can be made by any who seek parenthood, whose intensity of feeling has been recognized by the Star. If your wish is granted, you might find a special basket near your home one day.
Eligible: Relationships that have been roleplayed or lifemated. (Lifemate agreements must predate the starting time of this event and can only be between Soquili x Soquili pairs or poly groups; agreements between Soquili x Familiars won't be recognized, as at present the shop does not officially recognize Soquili x Familiar agreements in the Mates and Permissions thread.) If roleplayed, the thread must contain at least 10 posts or 1,000 words to qualify, and the thread must have been started prior to the starting time of this event. The roleplay must support the character's wish, whether it be a roleplay between two characters showing their bond (it does not necessarily have to be a romantic one, so long as they do not despise each other), or a solo roleplay where a character self-reflects on what it'd be like to be a parent (such as for rogue breeding entries). Oracle was unreadable as usual, though Wren detected a bit of nervous energy coming from her. Zhao was a sentinel, strong and protective, her eyes surveying everything around them as they approached. When they finally stood before the Star to make their offering Wren felt overwhelmed with hope. She wavered and looked back at her lovers. Zhao was already moving to her side with a supportive nuzzle, Oracle nodded and smiled, giving Wren a slight nudge as well. "We're all in this together," she said quietly. With a deep steadying breath Wren laid the offfering and all their hopes at the altar of the Star.

A bouquet of star lillies, lilly pads, soft reeds and other materials he found in a rush. Short IC Response:Cranberry Sunset felt like he was floating through life, watching others live. Somewhere along the way, he forgot how to join in and live too. He'd spent most of the last moon watching Isidore and Ayane from afar, floating offshore their small private island. He wanted so badly for Ayane to be with child, and yet he was saddened by it too. When the moon had disappeared from the sky yet again, he saw her—the wishing star—high in the night sky. Bright and strong, calling him. Cranberry swam inland, still keeping an eye on the sky. He picked a star lily, some reeds, and a lily pad from upstream. Carefully, he tied them together with soft grass.
"Wishing star, oh wishing star," his voice was soft and crackly at first. "Please, wishing star, give Ayane and her odd familiar love a child of their own." He closed his eyes and rubbed his lamp. "I wish she could have a small foal of her own." He laid the bouquet in the water and watched as the current took it out of the shallows and out to sea. He felt oddly light.

They had come out to the beach tonight to seek out the Wishing Star and make their wish. The clouds had parted, the moon was new, and the Star shone bright above. Yae lifted the crown off of Sarava's head and laid it in the sand, constructing a small alter with shells and other bits she found on the beach. They leaned against each other, looking up at the Star, and said in unison, "please, Wishing Star, bless us with a family. Our love sustains us, and we have so much more to share!"

Short IC Response: While some felt a longing for familial ties, Xennia was more prone to showing off and it was in those brief moments that she seemed to miss her family's presence, especially the elder brother she knew lived somewhere out there. She had claimed herself a mate, whether or not he agreed was of no matter; but she had no one to combat with to prove who held the tighter leash over their claimed partner. Maybe, she mused, if she left something for him, it would call him to her once more, and they could compare their prizes thoroughly as they once did...

What does your character leave as an offering for the wishing star? Shaoyao leaves a beautiful teacup that has an aesthetic mending of dark gold coursing through its center. Laying beside is a beautifully painted fan. Short IC Response: Shaoyao, an envoy from a group called the Broken Lotus, canted his head to the side as he studied the stars. He had heard that there was a thing called the Wishing Star. He saw friends and acquintances find others, be it relative or friend through this star. So with intrigue he called out; "I wish for... Hm! How about a friend!? I travel a lot. It'd be nice to have a friend. Maybe the one that left to be an envoy for the herd. They travelled further out from me. I would love to be reunited?" With that he laid out the tea cup that this friend had given when they were barely adults.
