I grew up in the Brethren tradition. In that tradition, we had a church service on Maundy Thursday and practiced foot washing.
This is also the day that Jesus had His Last Supper with His twelve apostles. In first-century Second Temple Jewish Passover, the meal typically consisted of lamb, unleavened bread, bitter herbs, and wine. The Passover lamb was sacrificed at the Temple and would have been the centerpiece at the table. It's possible that there were also olives, figs, dates, and sauces.
And now, here's a fun article about The Holy Grail
In the name of Jesus - love ya! heart

Servant Of Yashua I will actually be celebrating the Passover at sundown tomorrow. Followed by the feast of unleavened bread. 3nodding That is wonderful to hear! How are you connected with people who celebrate the Passover meal? Are you a Messianic Jew, or do you celebrate it with a different Jewish community? Or a different group entirely?
Servant Of Yashua What are your beliefs on the practice of washing feet? I wish more churches did it. I would still participate, because I treat it as almost an ordinance, if I was in a Brethren church. Right now, I'm not. I'm in a non-denominational evangelical megachurch. And I don't feel comfortable enough to talk with anyone about doing it. People get weird about it.
I also think that the Eucharist should be taken every Sunday, and I believe in a Real Spiritual Presence without the full transubstantiation view.
What about you? What's your view on foot washing?

I use to celebrate it with my teacher online, but I will be observing it alone this time around. I am a follower of what we believe to be the original religion in the Bible. The Way as your guild is named after. 3nodding As Paul says in Acts 24:14 "I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, and I have the same hope in God as these men, there there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." Isaiah 35:8 also mentions it as The Way of Holiness. I simply try to follow everything in the Bible to the best of my ability, though I'm lacking in a lot of it. I still believe in learning to come as close as I am able. As for the foot washing I should probably leave that for another time because it will sound 10x weirder than how they find it coming from you. 3nodding

Though it's not just my guild - it's your guild, too. You're a member, after all.
For me, Jesus is central. I'm sure He is for you as well, of course. But I try to follow His teachings and commandments rather than the Law itself. I have a multitude of reasons for that, and we could definitely discuss them sometime if you'd like.
Sure! We could totally discuss the foot washing thing another time, if you want.
