Chrysotile's body still ached from the last fight he'd been in. Still, he had to go out and collect starseeds or his superiors would get suspicious. He really didn't want to; he really just wanted to lie about at home and watch sports on tv and drink himself into oblivion under his family's concerned gaze. And they were starting to get worried about him, he noted to his chagrin. Was he having second thoughts about committing to the NBA, which was what he'd led them to believe was going on? He reassured them that no, he still planned to do it -- only he didn't tell them that what he really planned to do was purify into a knight.

And he still wanted to do that! It was just hard to take that step, hard to walk away from everything he knew and risk forgetting the thing that had made him join the Negaverse in the first place: his family. Would he still be able to protect them? Would he even remember them? He had started to put together a notebook of things he didn't want to forget, that he was going to hand off to either Manheimr or Denebola for safe keeping, to be returned to him after the deed was done by Royal Knight Camelot. But he really didn't want to forget in the first place. That would be horrible.

As he cut down a side alley, he suddenly detected an Order aura not too far away. "s**t," he muttered to himself. What was it going to be THIS time, another kid? Ducking behind a dumpster, he prepared himself mentally for a fight. Even if he lost, as he figured he would, he didn't want to walk away too damaged.

Anser was out on patrol, by herself, despite whatever scolding Cybele or Sedna or Encke wished to give her for it. But she was learning caution! She was only approaching auras that were her level or lower. As much as she wanted to take on what she was pretty sure had been a super dark evil aura at the edges of her senses when she had initially powered.

She'd let one of the eternals handle that, she guessed.

Unless it was still there when she ended her loop, then she was gonna go all supervillain attack mode--

Anser hummed to herself, skipping along as she kept her eyes and senses peeled for any auras that felt more her ... level. Or less. It took a bit before she sensed a weaker pulse at the edge of her sense, and she let out a curious, "Hm?" turning her head towards it. Behind some buildings, of course. Typical supervillain location. Typical supervillain, probably.

The lieutenant may have been trying to hide, but Anser pursued them, stopping where the aura felt like it was probably the strongest.

Near some ... dumpsters?

"Stop hiding, villain!" exclaimed Anser, projecting her voice in the way she had learned in her fine arts theatre class. "I understand that you are attempting to become one with the trash you are, but camouflage will not save you here!"

Ooh, that sounded badass. Writing that one down later...

Hiding never worked, Chrysotile should have known better by now. With a sigh he stood and stepped out from behind the dumpster, holding his empty hands in plain sight. He looked the senshi up and down in surprise. She was just a kid! Her aura was strong, tingling all over him with that sensation of irritation that every White Moon warrior had. But a kid! Not a little kid like that other senshi had been, there was at least that. Maybe a young teenager. What was she doing out patrolling on her own this late at night? The streets of Destiny City were dangerous!

The tall Chaos agent sighed again and tried to not roll his eyes. "Look, miss, I'm not looking for a fight," he said as calmly and non-threateningly as he could. "I'm just trying to go about my business quietly and without causing any trouble. Now we could just go our own separate ways and pretend this encounter never happened, right? Just mooooove along, no harm no foul. You good with that?"

He looked surprised.

Good.

All five feet and five inches of Anser stared up at the lieutenant in defiance, hands on her hips and a smirk on her face. She was ready to face this guy. She was stronger than him, and she could feel it. He would regret doing whatever evil he was up to in her presence.

Not looking for a fight. Of course he wasn't. Probably wanted to go about his evil business without any disturbances. Wanted to terrorize the civilian populace of Destiny City without any consequences.

Anser cracked her knuckles.

"No can do, lieutenant." And she shifted into a fighting stance, legs out, hands up. "You're a member of the Negaverse, and any business they're up to is evil business."

The moment she finished talking, she charged at him, aiming to punch him in the gut.

Evil? Chrysotile supposed what the Negaverse did was evil -- no, he was sure of it. That was one of the reasons he wanted out. But HE wasn't evil…. Was he? Did doing evil things, even under duress, even though he didn't want to, make him evil? He was having a hard enough time living with what he had to do in order to survive in the Negaverse without having to worry about their evilness rubbing off on him as a person, as a future Knight. He didn't want to be evil.

His thoughts distracted him just enough for the Super Senshi to attack. She was fast too! Unable to dodge out of the way, he took the full force of her punch right in his gut; the force of the blow sent him reeling back a good three feet and he toppled down onto his rear, which knocked the wind out of him briefly.

Scrabbling backwards on the ground, he summoned his afghan. Fat lot of good it would do, but he had to try. From his seated position he threw the brightly-colored crocheted blanket at her head, hoping he could blind her temporarily and buy himself a few seconds to get to his feet.

Perhaps it was a good thing he wasn't looking for encouragement from Anser. She wouldn't be terribly likely to give him any.

She did seem terribly likely to put her hands on her hips and gloat. When the lieutenant practically went flying backward, she cackled, advancing a few steps closer with the intention of keeping him right down on the ground where he belonged. He scrambled away from her, which only made her grin grow a bit wider.

"Evil never wins! At least, not permanently! Don't you--"

Anser sputtered when she was suddenly hit in the face with an afghan, and she let out a frustrated groan, nearly ripping it off her face. And then, she observed it, with a derisive snort.

"Is this really what the Negaverse uses as weapons?"

She threw it back at him.

"Yeah, sucks doesn't it?" Chrysotile shot back at Anser as he got to his feet as quickly as he could, catching the afghan deftly. "They can't be bothered to give us lieutenants USEFUL weapons. Maybe that's why we tend to die so easily!"

He straightened, towering over the girl. "Look, I don't want to hurt you -- hah, like I could, with your power level and all. But I don't want to fight. I just want to be left alone. I have to make my quota or they'll punish me." Stepping forward, he spread his hands pleadingly, still holding the afghan. "I hate the Negaverse as much as you do. But I have to survive!"

Whiny much? Not her fault that the Negaverse was incompetent and didn't know how to actually arm their military. Hell, it was kinda to her advantage so long as she wasn't talking about the generals and their actual weapons.

(She still needed to figure out how to properly disarm someone with a sword, though from what Cybele said, she was fairly sure the other weapons would be easy to toss aside--)

Anser quirked an unamused eyebrow when the lieutenant stepped towards her. Was he trying to intimidate her? She had in-laws who were like, nearly seven feet. His height didn't daunt her, and she stood her ground, hands on her hips as she listened to him. She did give him time to finish his plea, finish his attempt to win her over and get her to leave him alone.

Uh-huh.

Never mind if Anser could trust him or not, there was a very simple saying to her that resolved if this guy was excusable or not. If someone told her she had to jump, would she jump? Of course not. That was stupid. If someone told her she had to kill, would she kill? No. She'd rather be punished than act in a way that was definitively evil.

"Yeah, I think that's the excuse all the grunts give," remarked Anser, shaking her head in disagreement, before she attempted to rush him again, this time swinging her leg out in an attempt to use her height as an advantage to knock him down.

The senshi charged him again; seemed his words had fallen on uncaring ears. Chrysotile tried to dodge out of the way, but she was too fast and too strong for him. Her roundhouse kick knocked one of his legs out from underneath him, and he once more tumbled to the ground, landing hard on his hip.

"I mean it, I don't want to fight you!" he cried, struggling quickly to his feet. Squaring up for attack, he swung his afghan at her, hoping his long reach would allow him to strike her with a sting. He knew he had no chance against her -- she was a whole level above him power-wise, and that at the very least balanced out his height advantage.

But he had to try to defend himself.

Of course he didn't want to fight her. After all, he was clearly losing.

Anser snorted derisively when he cried once more, still standing defiantly as he attempted to get to his feet. Even if his height gave him an advantage, she didn't fear it, and was instead already trying to calculate her next move. Maybe she should try shoving him down one more. Keep him down. Kick him until he agreed to--

The strike from the afghan drew a frustrated noise as it smacked against her arm, and Anser scrambled to attempt to grab onto it so it would lose it's utility. Couldn't strike her with it if he didn't have it, after all.

Probably shouldn't have tossed it back the first time actually.

Whether she managed to get the afghan from him or not, she snapped, "Wanna not fight? Stop being a villain!"

Chrysotile felt her grab his afghan, but his grip tightened so the senshi couldn't rip it out of his hands. "I want to stop being a villain!" he shouted at her. "I don't want to steal people's starseeds and leave them as empty husks lying on the ground! But if I don't, my superior officers will punish me!"

His anger and frustration grew, and he attempted to pull her toward him, a snarl on his face. "But if you wanna fight, I'll give you a fight!" He wasn't about to be taken down by another kid, even if she was a super senshi!

All she was hearing from his lips was excuses, and it was frustrating her. She rolled her eyes dismissively when the lieutenant continued to go on about wanting to stop being a villain but going back to the whole being punished idea.

She didn't let go of his afghan, even when she felt him starting to tug back on it. It moved her body forward a bit and she was yanked forward, but the moment she got a grip she dug in her heels, attempting to force herself to stay in one position. Anser then threw her body back, attempting to force the lieutenant back towards her instead -- or perhaps just to throw him off balance. Or maybe just to rip the afghan, honestly.

Anser hadn't quite fought that far ahead, but she wasn't about to let the villain win this odd version of tug-o-war.

As she yanked, she snapped, "Be braver!"

She narrowed her eyes, digging her heels in deeper and yanking even harder. "You're killing people just to save your own a** from punishment! That's evil!"

There was no arguing with the kid. She was right -- Chrysotile was evil. Even if he was planning on and working toward purification, he was still part of the Negaverse, still ripping starseeds out of chests, still fulfilling his quota. He hadn't stopped; he was too scared to stop. Not without being completely ready to purify. Why was he so hesitant to just do it? Why hadn't he just gone ahead and contacted Midgard and Denebola and told them it was time, and then gone through with it?

Perhaps he was afraid he wasn't worth it.

With a noise borne of disgust with himself, he let go of his end of the afghan and fell to the ground. "Go ahead, beat me up!" he shouted. "Should be easy for a super like you!"

Anser, who had been putting so much force into making sure that she was tugging the afghan towards herself, lost her balance when the lieutenant suddenly let go of his weapon, and fell backward, right onto her butt.

Of course, she couldn't let that last and quickly got to her feet, brushing the back of her skirt off. She was a superhero! Superheroes ended up on their asses sometimes but they always got back up and tried it again--

Wait, was he giving up?

Was this a trap?

Anser eyed him suspiciously, unwilling to outright trust that a villain was just going to sit and give her an opening like that. She half-expected it to be like a cartoon, where she would take the bait, approach, and then he would wallop her in the face or trip her or pin her down and cackle or something of the sort. But still, he had given her an opening. She couldn't just stand there.

She approached, keeping the afghan balled up in one hand mostly to make sure he didn't try to take it back from her again. Useless as it was, he was not allowed to have his weapon back!

Disarm first, after all.

And then, quickly, she attempted to punch him right in the face.

Name: Hanya
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Weavercraft
Rank: Apprentice
Physical Description: Slightly shorter than average height, she’s eye-catching only because of her clothes, and possibly her build. Hanya is really not much of a looker upon closer inspection. Her hair is a pale, slightly ashen brown, worn extremely long but braided back and wound around her head; she is still vain about its length and will resist cutting it tooth and nail. Her eyes are darkish grey, somewhat analogous to slate, and her facial features are fairly nondescript, though a flatterer might call her pretty. She's tan, but the sort of tan that comes of just happening to be outside when it's sunny rather than trying to tan.

Turns of hard work at the Weyrs have helped Hanya get in shape. She's not skinny by any means, but her weight has settled in places it should: hips, bust, butt. She's developed a curvy, feminine shape, and she wears it well, dressing in vividly coloured (but fairly cheap) fabrics, and girly clothes that are often embroidered or stitched by Hanya herself. She's recently taken a fancy to blues and golds, but she likes all bright colours.

Personality: Hanya often comes off a bit bossy. She has a tendency to nag, though growing up helping to raise four little brothers, this isn’t much of a surprise. In general, she’s an outgoing girl, and will march straight up to people and introduce herself, whether they want to get to know her or not, which either comes off as endearingly forthright or alarmingly forward. With other girls, she can be a bit more reserved. She tends to size up what she views as her ‘competition’—and she takes that competition seriously. She hates when people get what she considers to be special treatment and is not above sulking if someone else gets what she wants.

Hanya is a whiner, though she knows enough to keep quiet in most situations, and will grumble under her breath until the end of time. She only likes doing work that she enjoys, and the only work she enjoys, more or less, is weaver-work. Anything else is useless labour, and she shouldn't have to do it. Tedious, detail-oriented tasks delight her because they enable her to prove her dedication and focus. If need be, she has an endless supply of patience, likely because she grew up with four brothers.

She's surprisingly good with people in many ways (though she's still learning where the line between advice and bossiness lies), and is a hard worker in a group situation. With boys, she is ingratiating and overly-friendly, somewhat simpering. She loves to flirt and will more or less bat her eyelashes at anything male that can't get away fast enough. In spite of the stories she'd tell about nagging parents and annoying brothers, she loves her family immensely and misses them.

She has grown up with the transfer to Igen, gaining an individual strength she didn't know she had, and some rebellious tendencies that should probably stay buried. She's developed a rather nasty mouth (though she very rarely speaks what she's thinking in the presence of anyone important), and also a knack for passive-aggressive snark. She was quick to pick up what Igen Weyr was all about, and just as quick to start blatantly ignoring it. She hates being told what to do by people who lack what she views as 'legitimate' authority.

And she's excited as all get-out to continue her weaver studies.

History: Hanya was born in Ista Hold, the first daughter of a weaver and a tannercraft journeyman. She was an only child for four turns. Then came, in rapid succession, four boys: a single child, twins, and then another single child. With three expansions in the family in as many turns, seven-turn-old Hanya suddenly found herself roped into helping her mother with everything. She started learning the basics of cooking and weaving, and when she was nine turns, her mother finagled her into an apprenticeship with one of the better weavers in the Hold. She wasn’t good early on, and her teacher’s goading led her to become viciously competitive with other apprentices and weaver-children. She took up embroidery when it was suggested she might have a talent, and she quickly, through sheer force of will, got good at it.

Two turns later, Hanya’s mother briefly terminated her apprenticeship because she needed help with the boys again. Hanya resented it but continued as many lessons as she could, and found that she was once again competing for attention—this time with her own kin. She suddenly had to prove herself just as valuable as her brothers and became rather a mother hen, taking constant control of the rest of the brood and bossing them whenever the opportunity arose. When she proved herself capable and valuable, instead of returning her to her lessons, her parents decided it was better that they leave Hanya in charge of the brood more often. Infuriated, Hanya desperately searched for a way out. She found none. When, at thirteen turns, the eldest of her brothers was old enough to take charge, Hanya’s parents allowed her to resume her apprenticeship. Hanya did so gleefully. This time around, she was actually sent to Weavercraft Hall to further her studies, and she was absolutely thrilled to be studying like a real weaver.

Until she was Searched, just after the start of her fifteenth turn. When this new opportunity to prove herself arose and she found herself in the middle of an even bigger, better competition, she jumped at it in spite of her parents’ disapproval. She didn't want to be stuck with her brothers forever. It was her time to shine.

She spent several turns at Ista and came to realize that she had agreed to move to the Weyr to stick it to her parents more than for any desire to Impress that she might have had. She joined the ILA to go out with a last hurrah and was preparing to return to Southern Boll to finish her weavercraft studies when the opportunity arose to transfer Weyrs. She decided she would at least transfer and see if the new Weyr offered her anything Ista didn't.

It was Igen. Hanya immediately hated it there, and spent only a handful of sevendays before working to transfer out. Just recently, she got the chance to return to Southern Boll and, naturally, took it without thinking. She's back at Weavercraft Hall, now, working hard in preparation for becoming a journeyman Weaver.

Pets: Not long before she left Ista Weyr, Hanya had the fortune of purchasing a firelizard egg from someone quite anxious to get rid of it. It hatched into Spice.

Spice is fairly charming to people she knows (and people who feed her, sometimes), but hates newcoming humans and dragons with a passion. She's quick to be placated, though, accepting food offerings readily from anyone regardless of species, and absolutely adores other firelizards. She doesn't really know when no means no when she's playing with other flits, though, and can sometimes be an annoyance to adults.

Other/Talents: She has a great talent for embroidery and enjoys it immensely. She also has a good handle on most sewing, basic weaving, and can bake bread.

Will this character be a candidate? Not anymore!
