The arrow strikes the crystal, driving deep into the stone. It quivers in place and then stills. A moment later, black streaks begin to cover the weapon, growing along its shaft, small crystals rising in clusters.

Shun sees himself gazing back. The reflection raises a bloody hand and gestures to something behind the knight. There's nothing there, except another knight.

Seeing as Chel's brain was now a milkshake of emotions she chose to ignore every single one of them and focus on the task at hand. It was easier than remembering-

"Hey so update. Don't touch the crystals," she told Shun, briefly brushing his arm to alert him to her presence. "Saw some stuff. Lots of death." She kept it short and didn't want Shun to ask for more.

She moved on. "How's it goin' here?" she asked, noting the arrow notched in the crystal door.

"Ah...Chel." The voice was a man's, even and grimly bemused as it whispered in her ear. "We meet again." Suddenly a spike of crystal shot outward, toward her face.

The wall began to shift and crack. It did not break, though. Instead, like a living crowd, it parted, creating a a passage just wide enough for knights to enter single file.

Beyond was the throne, and it was not the Great King's seat. No, this was a grisly thing of bone and skull, and atop is sat a familiar figure in a dark hood.

Merlin.

Maple didn't know if she really should have been listening at all, but the update from the new blonde knight about the crystals was, in a way, appreciated even if she didn't like the sounds of it. Maybe she shouldn't have after all. Death? Oh great, she kept her hands to herself even more now. Not something that was going to help in any way, especially when someone was actually following through with her suggestion.

Just stood there like a useless log.

And then made a distressing sound when something actually happened. Her eyes went wide to Chel's direction, her mouth went wide when the wall of crystal actually started to move and remained that way as she followed after the others. (Wait, was she following after the others, oh she hoped so!)

"Sir Merlin!" The black knight exclaimed, surprised. That was an odd choice for a seat. Kind of worrisome actually. Maple found herself taking a step back with a hand sliding up to rest on the hem of her hood, oh so ready to pull it over her head.
