I Love Texas!! I am near the Coast now and have been here over half of my life now and it's NOT my favorite part of Texas, but we are supposed to be moving back "home" within the month!! I am so excited! I was born in Huntsville, Texas, where my parents were attending Sam Houston State University. I ended up back in their hometown, when they brought me here to keep me from my 1st husband (we eloped.... turns out they were right, but I was blessed with my 1st 2 children so it wasn't ALL bad). Time and relationships kept me here, and eventually I was Assist City Secretary of the town I now reside in. Now, most of my kids are grown and gone and I'm ready to move home. It's a nicer area with kinder (maybe simpler) people. We went for a visit recently and my fiance discovered there are more of people like me.... who talk and talk and are "open" (very unguarded). "Friendly" we call it! The only times I have lived outside of Texas were when I lived in Germany for a year (2nd child was born there), Florida (which didn't agree with me) and Tennessee (which I loved too!). I have dreamed of living back in Tennessee, Alaska and especially Canada, but so far Texas is home!

So funny because I never really felt like I ever went anywhere! But when I look at it, I guess you're right! I would love to travel more and see many more places! I love History and I fancy myself as able to "feel" auras when I am able to put my hands on something that has seen history! It's an interesting feeling! It's only sad when it's a church and it seems innocent enough, but I touch it and it has "bad vibes" or a cemetery (usually only a section, but once it was the entire tiny cemetery). Battlefields are difficult too... the fear, the pain.... but I love feeling it anyway, it's almost like having a window into the past!

This is where everything all started for me. Born down at the southern end in McAllen and raised in Houston. So I was usually pretty close to the Gulf Coast. Lived there for most of my life but then the traveling started and poof no longer am I a resident of Texas. Though my texan vehicle travels with me and believe you not we sure do like to travel the open road. Texas will always be my home no matter where I go. Fun stuff.

Not so much... It's near Dallas of course, but I'm betting you knew that. I used to know a site where you could learn everything about an area. Schools, Diversity, Crime etc! I'll try to find it.

Well, it's 25 miles E of Dallas. I am trying to figure what intriguing place you have discovered? The Cowboy Church? It definitely looks intriguing. I found it when I went on my "discovery" of Terrell after you said there was something that interested you there. Cowboys are a nice bonus too... rofl
Hope I don't burn for that one... lol

Is there a way to find there crime statics? I do know that they had several burglaries last week. That much I did find out. Well, it's 25 miles E of Dallas. Texas born and raised. I was born in houston hate that city by the way lol. lived all over south texas and parts of louisianna. Now residing in corpus christi.
