I'm working on a musical/movie idea in a post apocalyptic future the year 3099 where most middle and upper class humans have gone off to live amongst the stars. Earth is now wrecked. In japan an community of peaceful villagers has to deal with the constant attacks by a group of psychopathic criminals. Now an American who was captured by the aliens in 2085 is awakened by the village scavengers in the year 3999 Now he has to decide will he find his way into the stars or help stop the criminals once and for all.
Any ideas on if i should try selling the concept first or write songs and then try?

My advice is, elaborate. You need to really KNOW your idea and have most all of it figured out. You know have concept art, songs, settings, character sketches. At this point you're really only in the creative process of the idea, after you have some song ideas and maybe if you're lucky already have a demo of the song recorded (If you know anyone who can play the instruments and write music) then I would start selling your idea.
Still, I think it's REALLY cool that you're making a musical/play thing!
