I have just started reading the first book in the omnibus, and I already found an error that takes all known Space Marine fluff and tosses it away.
When Gaunt has his visions of the past, going back to the Schola. He is trying to find out what happened to the other childrens parents.
One of the kids says,(Not exact Quote) "My Dad was a Space Marine and died killing 1000 demons. Then My mom killed herself when she found out he died."
Considering how old Space Marine recruits are required to be (except in the Black Templars for some reason) and all the training and tests they have to pass just to be taken as a recruit how could this Marine be married and have a son?
Dude, have you bothered to read any further? The child turns out to have LIED to Gaunt when Gaunt asks the school prefect about the liar, discovering that the father of the child was a scribe or something like that.
I mean s**t, Dan Abnett isn't that stupid.

Sorry if I come across as overly rude, but it galls me that people berate good books without taking the spitting time to read it through completely before drawing their silly unfound conclusions.
