Do not steal the art. Stealing art is an infringement on copyright rights and this rule will be enforced. So save us and yourself the trouble by not taking the art and claiming it as your own or anyone else's besides the person who actually drew the art. Editting the art is also against the rules.
Don't PM staff members! Unless it's a pet trade, info for a custom order, or if you were told to PM someone on the staff listing, please don't PM me for any other reason or you will be blacklisted. No one likes junk mail swarming their inboxes.
Do not steal the concept. It's fairly obvious that idea stealing = plagiarizing = illegal! The Kirin's are copyrighted to Kyrianna & Nozomi. They purchased the line-art. So make sure you come up with your own ideas and not steal them from others.
No complaining. Or flaming, if you will. Saying mean and innopropriate things to other people in this thread will result in you being recognized as someone who's eligible to be placed onto the blacklist.
No spamming. If you see your post, everyone else sees it. Don't type the same thing twice. If you need something and one of our staff members missed it, just quote yourself and ask if anyone has gotten to it.
No lying. We are not in second grade anymore so don't think you can get away with lying. Your best bet is to revert away from doing it. (This includes: telling rumors about staff members, giving sob stories about your neighbor's dog, and lying about editting posts in flatsales; I repeat, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EDIT YOUR POSTS IN FLATSALES!!)
No self-advertising/promoting. Or don't advertise any other shop in this thread. You may advertise if you are or want to be an affiliate, though. Affiliates = Love ;D

West of Sunrise
There's a small copse of trees to the west of Barton Town. You wandered there one day, tired of the hustle and bustle of the forum, the stores, the little alleys full of mini-shops. It was quite early; the sun had only been an hour or so risen, and the little stand of trees was bright and full of birdsong. As you wandered smiling amongst the nature, something man-made caught your eye, and you stopped, startled.
A small building, made of pale wooden slats, was curiously built around the trunk of the largest tree. It sat halfway up, the flame-coloured leaves like a Japanese maple partly obscuring the top and dancing in the wind. A small rope ladder dangled from the thin platform running round the edge, and it moved slightly in the breeze, trailing the ends along the ground. You glanced around, moving slightly closer, intrigued by this place.
"Hello!" You call as you stand at the bottom of the ladder, cringing as your loud voice sends a covey of birds fluttering in the treetops. However, no-one answers. You put one hand on the ladder, debating on whether to go up or not, but your curiousity get the better of you, and with a decisive movement you scramble up the five or so steps to stand on the firm planks of the platform. A door in the south-western wall that had been almost invisible, because of the angle, from the forest floor, faced you, brass handle glinting in the sunlight. You knock cautiously; hearing no answer, you go in.
A light, airy room greeted you, centre dominated by the living tree trunk, the bark curiously carved but not seeming to suffer for it. The outer walls are lined with bookshelves; several soft mats are on the floor, splashing colour into the natural tones of the walls and the tree. As you pad warily around, a large window in the eastern side comes into sight, providing the light for the room, though you can see little Chinese lanterns hanging discreetly from the ceiling edges. A solid square of pale sunlight lanced into the room, fully illuminating a large niche carved into the tree itself, a small stool drawn up under it. A pen and ink sit in the niche, resting on a small roll of parchment, but your gaze is drawn to the drawers below, and you cannot resist opening it.
Inside the drawer, to your surprise, are rolls upon rolls of parchment, similar to the one above it. Pulling one out, you unroll it carefully. The sheet is blank, apart from a large black Chinese symbol right in the middle. "What on earth?" you mutter, racking your brains to remember what the symbol means, eventually coming up with the fact that it stands for 'Faith'. Drawing out another one, this one says 'Confidence'. And 'Sacrifice', 'Independence', 'Honour' and 'Courage' all reveal themselves to your inquisitive gaze. As you hold the last one, the symbol for Courage, up to the sunlight that hovers over your shoulder, you nearly drop the parchment as the symbol begins to glow faintly. Removing it, it stops glowing. You are just in the process of repeating the experiment when the soundof someone talking makes you return it guiltily. There is no-where to hide in the large, open room; you can only stand there helplessly as someone climbs energetically up the ladder.
"Let's see if the sunrise has made any difference to Forgiveness this morning," a cheerful voice said. The door opens, and a girl steps into the room, face eager to see the progress she has made overnight. At the sight of you, half-hidden behind the tree-trunk, she jumps, eyes going wide. "Who are you?" She demanded, striding over to your side, eyes narrow as she checks her pen and ink are not disturbed. The drawer of parchment is still open; she glares at you.
"What do you think you are doing?" She asked angrily. You spread your hands and tried to explain your curiousity; as you plead your innocence, the girl relaxes slightly. "As long as you didn't touch that scroll," she points to the one lying innocuosly next the the pen. You shake your head slowly, and she breathes a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. In which case, you may stay, leave as you wish." She shrugged diffidently. "I found this place the same way you did, I guess I don't have more rights than you to it! I'm Kay-chan, by the way," she smiled warmly.
"So... you didn't build it? Who did?" You ask after introducing yourself, sitting on one ofthe floor mats whilst Kay-chan ensconsed herself on the stool, carefully lifting up the scroll. She replied without moving her gaze, concentrating on the purple symbol that was revealed. "I don't know. I found it pretty much like this, except with a book sitting under that pot of ink." She patted her side as if for a pocket,then remembered her coat was hanging outside the door. "It told me about this place, and what I - or rather whoever found this place - was charged to do."
"Which was?" You asked curiously. Kay-chan shook her head with a rueful grimace and laid the scroll back down, reaching for the ink. "Another layer, I think. The task? Oh, to awaken the spirits kept in these scrolls." She grinned at your round eyes and gestured at the ink. "The book taught me. You must have noticed the glowing in the sunlight? If I layer each symbol with coats of this clear ink, apparently a spirit will appear, though you have to keep it in the sunrise every morning between coats."
"Why?" You shuffle closer to look at the symbol that Kay-chan is carefully inking over.
"Apparently, the sunrise will awaken the spirit." The girl's golden eyes lit up. "So I've started the task."
"May I look at the book?" You looked over towards the door. Kay-chan nods and directs you to her coat pocket. Inside is a brown leather-bound book a little smaller than an average paperback, and you turn the crackling pages, eventually coming back to sit down and read whilst Kay-chan inked silently.

An Infant is born of the symbol's power. Guard it well, for it is a small being, no bigger than a small lapdog. Teach it well of this world.
An Adolescent, be it colt or filly, grows from the little infant, around the size of a wolfhound. They may turn troublesome at this stage; school them well.
An Adult is the full-grown spirit of the Symbol, standing with its head at your shoulder. They embody the sense of the Symbol entirely; unless something happens to the parchment from which they spring, they will always act thus.
A rare race, Demons are mischievous and fun-loving creatures. Sure, they have a slightly darker sense of humor and fun but...Things have to balance out somehow, right? They tend to like to play pranks and frighten just about anything that can be frightened. They also have a long-standing rivalry with the Angelic race.

More rare than the Demons, Angels are a happy and frolicking race. They are mostly pure of heart and are usually of the lighter elements. Their sense of humor is usually clean and they have an air of innocence around them. Needless to say - They're Demon's favorite targets for pranks - but that doesn't mean they don't have a few up their sleeves as well.

The elders are the rarest of all races. They can only be achieved through a fair amount of hard work and large accomplishments (I.E. They're only available through large bribes or hard-work through RP). They are the wisest of the Kirins - and they are also who all three lower races go to for advice. Generally, they are modest - though a few arrogant souls do get by. After all - what is power without knowledge of said power?

**Please note if you get a Familiar, Familiars are always custom. You must pay the Custom Familiar price. If you get a Familiar, once you secure your position, please fill out the custom familiar form as well**
Post the form with the correct information.
No editing. Once you choose a Symbol you may not edit it and replace it with a new one. Those that do, will be blacklisted. If you want to buy a 2nd one you must wait 20 minutes. If there's some left, you may buy another one. And so on.
Post the number after GO has been posted in Green. If you post before a WoS staff member tells you to "GO" it will not be counted.
A Familiar added with it will be 4k - but it's custom
24 hours is the key. You should have the money needed to purchase a Kirin if you win a flatsale. If a trade does not come within 24 hours, your Kirin is up for grabs once more.
You may buy for a friend. You'll give up your chance at attaining one from that specific flatsale.
Send the trade before hand. Send the trade once you have been acknowledged as the winner to West of Sunrise.
- Bid only what you have. If you win the auction, you must have the amount you bidded by the end of the auction and send it to West of Sunrise.
Be friendly. Make conversation with others in the thread.
Do not intimidate others. Do not say things like, "You better not bid or else I'll outbid you," "I have more than enough money to beat you," or anything of the sort.
No sniping. You can't just show up at the end of the auction and post expecting to win. To prevent this, the auction ends 15 minutes after the last bid if a bid is placed in the area of 15 minutes before the auction's ending time (i.e. if someone bids at 1:55pm and the auction ends at 2:00pm, then the ending time will be extended until 2:10pm, otherwise the auction's ending time will remain the same)
No retracting bids. Once you bid it, you're entitled to keeping it. If you win with that bid, you must send the trade to West of Sunrise, otherwise you will be blacklisted.

Decided you want little Kirins, did you? Well, you've come to the right place! Breedings usually yeild between 2-4 children.
General Breeding Rules:
1. Your Kirin do not have to know each other to breed - but they have to be adults.
2. I don't care how you split the costs between the owners, as long as the full price is paid.
Send the trade after sending the PM!
3. Male/male or female/female breedings are allowed.
4. You may only breed two Kirin at a time, unless under special circumstances.
5. Fill out the form and PM it to West of Sunrise. Only PM it if there are open slots!
6. To get an automatic Angel or Demon Kirin, both parents must be of the species origin. If one parent is an angel and one is a regular, you have 1 in 10 chance to get an angel. Same goes for Demon. Elders mating have a 20% chance of getting an Angel.
And a Demon/Angel pairing will have a 20% chance of getting either an Angel OR A Demon.

Q: OMG! That's too much! Can I reserve one?
A: I'm sorry, but no. There's always the possibility that we will get cheated out of our money, and other deserving customers who have the gold will get cheated out of a pet.
Q: How do I get an angelic/demonic kirin? You rarely sell them!
A: You're right! Those will only be found in auctions, as they are much rarer than regular and fairy Tyuri. Unless, of course, you bribe me with a custom spot =)
Q: Can I have a custom?
A: Check the custom section of the post. If we have a slot open, do as directed in that post and you'll be one step closer to getting your custom Kirin!
Q: How are Kirin obtained?
A: Through a flatsale, raffle, auction, pet/art trade, or event.
Q: May I have a Kirin for free?
A: Unless you were owed a free Tyuri, or you are a close friend of one of the staff members, the answer is no.
